Congressman Walter B. Jones is as fine a Statesman and Christian Patriot as our nation has. He is a dedicated soft spoken humble man. He stands for a strong national defense; is a true friend to our military and their families. As this story shows he also stands for justice.
There is an arrogant culture at the highest levels of our military that feels it is untouchable with absolute power. I know this is true, as I once had a seat at that table. I and others fought for justice for sexual assault victims, as we watched with anger and disgust, how many of these people turned their backs and used lawyers and that power to re-victimize women that had been raped.
Their crime: "whistle blowers", for reporting their assaults. This General is one of those that let this happen. I can tell you with absolute certainty whistle blowers do not make out good in our military.
Listen to Congressman Jones. He knows what he is talking about, and he is right. Stand with him, pick up your phones; write letters and email. Call you Congressmen and Senators.
As for the General, Sir, those women are still waiting for justice. The files still exist, the truth on this is still the truth, and justice denied is not justice.
To all those reading this General Amos is also a fine man and Patriot. I simply do not understand why he allows these things to stand. Could it be he has listened to, and put his trust with the wrong people?
The Marine Corps is an institution replete with honor. What is being done is a stain on the fine traditions and valor such as regiments have handed down since 10 November 1775.
God bless our nation, God bless our Corps. Thank you Congressman Jones.
Semper Fidelis,
Sergeant Major Steve Trubilla USMC (ret.)
