You have been warned, but were you listening?

The words, a clear and present danger, are ominous and command attention. They serve as a warning of what will come if action is not taken.
Danger close in the military is a fire command segment used to alert caution with artillery, close air support, naval gunfire, and other fire mission commands. This indicates that friendly forces are within close proximity of the target.
Warnings come to us in many ways. As a child I am sure you remember Mom saying, "Now don't touch that you will get burned." Do you remember a coach warning, if you are not at practice, you will be sitting on the bench? Maybe your grandparents cautioning you, "Now would not be a good time to talk to your Dad, he is a bit angry with you."
I think you will agree most of the time there were warnings for many of the stupid things we have done. We simply did not pay attention to them.
When the stupid happens in hindsight it leaves us thinking boy that hurt, and cost so much. I should have listened when I was warned.
If it is any consolation no one has a corner on the "stupid market."
With experience and time wisdom comes, or at least it is supposed to. Stupid is ageless. It is young and old, fat and skinny, rich and poor, highly educated, and not so educated. It is multicultural, diverse and integrated. Stupid may be the most common trait we have. Do you know anyone that has not done something stupid?
Is it possible for a whole town, county, or even a country to be stupid? Let us take a look at the word stupid. By definition it is having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense.
I think having open borders and making sanctuary cites and states for criminals fits this definition.
Even as I write this there is an effort moving across the county to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. It should come as no surprise that those looking to erase our borders are behind this effort. Obviously these people think you are stupid, or at a minimum think you are not paying attention to it.
Talk about a clear and present danger. Is it possible that ICE could be abolished? The answer is yes it is? At last count I found 188 officials across the country that have added their names to an open letter to abolish ICE. The list continues to grow. Of them, 25 are from North Carolina.
Most of these officials are at the local and state level. This list included County Commissioners, Aldermen, School Board and Council members. The Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor of Durham has added her name to the list.
Despite numerous stories and allegations in the media falsely accusing ICE of conducting indiscriminate raids and sweeps, the fact is that in 2017 92 percent of all aliens arrested by ICE had criminal convictions, pending criminal charges, were an immigration fugitive, or were an illegal re-entrant.
ICE is on the front-lines of the fight against illegal narcotics trafficking that is contributing to the country's deadly opioid epidemic. Their special agents seized approximately 7,000 pounds of heroin and more than 2,300 pounds of fentanyl.
That amount of fentanyl alone when calculated by death could have killed 439,300,000 people. In 2017 the estimate was only 325,000,000 people lived in the entire country.
Drug interdiction is only a fraction of what ICE does. This agency was an integral part of the more that 4,800 criminal arrests in national anti-gang operations. The effort included an 83% increase over last year's arrest of the ultra-violent MS-13 gang members.
Do you remember the television series Lost in Space? The robot would sound warning, "Danger, danger Will Robinson."
I am sure you have heard or read about this effort to abolish our Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. What have you heard about plan "B" if they do away with it?
Let me play on the robot's words. As a country, are we lost in space, WARNING, danger, danger?
Every election cycle the mantra goes out. This is the most important election of our time. This one may just be the most important. If not it will be on the list of those that were.
Make no mistake, doing away with ICE and open borders is all about votes. Voter fraud has many faces. It is much more that someone showing up to vote and professing to be another person.
